Updated - 2nd Annual CPR Canada Regional Meeting
The International Institute for Conflict Resolution and Prevention ("CPR") will hold its Second Canada Regional Meeting in Toronto on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Arbitration Place in Toronto. The theme of this Second Regional Meeting will be “The Secret to a Successful Joint Venture: Building an Enduring Relationship."
In the morning, Professor Joan Stearns Johnsen, University of Florida, Levin College of Law, and CPR Distinguished Neutral, will conduct an interactive workshop. This will be a “hands-on” program with exercises and demonstrations of how these newer techniques help in house counsel and outside counsel achieving the company’s goals more efficiently and successfully.
The Honourable Ian Binnie, former Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada and Member Arbitrator at Arbitration Place, will be the day's Keynote Speaker. Over the course of three decades as a litigator, he argued cases in most of the common law provinces and appeared regularly before the Supreme Court on a range of constitutional, civil and criminal matters. [if !supportLineBreakNewLine] Following lunch, participants will engage in interactive panel discussions with distinguished in-house counsel and practitioners from Canada and the United States on current dispute prevention and resolution issues faced by corporations in these two countries.
